Leicestershire finished their disappointing season with a flourish, beating Derbyshire by eight wickets to claim their first championship win for nearly four months.
Derbyshire started the day in a strong position but collapsed to 203 all out in their second innings, setting Leicestershire a modest target of 190.
With Matt Boyce and Boeta Dippenaar hitting half-centuries, Leicestershire secured victory with a day to spare, Hylton Ackerman scoring the winning runs off the final ball of the third over during the optional extra half-hour.
Dippenaar finished with an unbeaten 84 off 104 balls - his best score of the season - and Boyce also returned to form, scoring 68 to post only his second half-century in his past 21 innings.
Derbyshire began the day on 85 without loss and a lead of 71 but lost ten wickets for 115 runs to open the door for the home side.
Their problems began in only the third over of the morning, when Stephen Stubbings was caught down the leg side trying to hook Garnett Kruger.
And from that point, Leicestershire's bowlers took charge, with Kruger claiming two more wickets to finish with three for 45 and match figures of eight for 96.
But it was 20-year-old Sam Cliff who produced the most eye-catching figures, with a career-best four for 42 off 19.3 overs. He sent down the ball of the day to Paul Borrington, which reared up from just short of a length, finding the edge to provide a slip catch to Dippenaar.
Only Tom New, on loan from Leicestershire, offered much more resistance, making 36 before Kruger had him caught by Paul Nixon, again down the leg side.
Derbyshire lost their last four wickets for 21 runs after the new ball had been taken, and their total of 203 left Leicestershire with plenty of time to secure victory.
Both Boyce and Dippenaar went for their shots after the early loss of Greg Smith. They rode their luck, with Boyce dropped twice before reaching his fifty, off 95 balls. He was finally caught at slip, but Dippenaar and Ackerman saw Leicestershire to the win.
