Younis Khan's unbeaten hundred took Pakistan to an eight-wicket win over India in the Asia Cup Super Fours.
The former Pakistan captain made 123 in just 117 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six, to help his team overhaul India's daunting target of 308, with 19 balls of the match remaining.
Mahendra Dhoni (76), the India captain, had earlier shared a 112-run partnership with Rohit Sharma (58) as India made 308-7 in their 50 overs. India had made a promising start to their innings with Virender Sehwag making 49 from just 33 balls, and Gautam Gambhir (35) and Yuvraj Singh (37) also making significant contributions.
However, India continued to lose key wickets at vital moments and only Irfan Pathan's 38 from 25 balls helped India to reach a total of more than 300.
However, Pakistan were always on course to reach the target, as Younis shared a 144-run parternship with Misbah-ul-Haq, who made 70 not out. Younis's innings was, rather surprisingly, his first one-day century in Pakistan.
Despite the victory, Pakistan's hopes of reaching the final of the Super Fours rely on Sri Lanka, who have already qualified for the July 6 final, beating India on Thursday. Pakistan would then need to beat Bangladesh on Friday to reach the final.
