The UK feline population is about 7 million. I'm not sure how just over a quid and a half per cat can be considered a massive sum.

The Charity Commission strongly recommends that charities should justify why they feel the need to hold large cash reserves. Trustees are under a duty to use funds within a "reasonable time"; it sounds like the Cats Protection League was hoarding its reserves.

Why have charities speculated with our donated money and invested most of their income , while still coming cap in hand for further donations from the general public.?
Surely both they and the councils should put their money to active use, not gamble with it.

As CP has previously stated, this money was/is to be used for building rehoming centres. With current legislation these are very expensive both to build and to run.
There is a never-ending stream of cats requiring adoption - especially in the present situation where people may be losing their homes

It seems that Charities are Big Business: now we know why we are bombarded with reqjuests, not for individual sums, but regular monthly direct debit payments, for regular investment in foreign banks.
