I tend to agree-to a point. However, she was outstanding in 'To Die For' and the makeup was something to behold-she never looked that good. As for 'The Hours', I could never stay away during that film.

I agree with Reid's assessment of Kidman, and the comparison of Kidman with Paltrow. In fact, I think Gwenyth Paltrow is even worse. That woman couldn't act her way out of a cardboard box. However, I actually think Keira Knightly is a decent actress. Not amazing or transforming, but good.

I think Melanie has put her finger on it. I always felt there was an emptiness in Nicole's acting. She did a good job in Practical Magic...but then she played a pretty air-head...type casting. And she was opposite Sandra Bullock who can save any movie. Nicole seems to be overdosing on Riddlin.

Melanie Reid, quite obviously, haven't seen Dodville where Kidman was sensational besides many other films.

As an actress and a director I can tell you that her acting is superb and well regarded in the industry.
