Enterprise Week, the UK’s annual celebration of all things enterprising, goes global this year. Taking place in more than 75 countries, Global Entrepreneurship Week aims to inspire millions of young people around the world to unleash their entrepreneurial spirit and join a growing movement to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing things.
As part of this drive Ultimo's CEO Michelle Mone, shares her advice for those embarking on a new business venture.
1 Thoroughly research your market place and your competitors
2 Know your product inside out
3 Prepare a business plan and get sufficient funding in place before the start
4 Keep focused on your target, remain determined and don’t lose sight of your goal
5 Find yourself a mentor who’ll listen and act on advice given
6 Keep tight control on your costs and don’t over spend
7 Employ knowledgeable and hard working staff to help you – you can’t do it alone
8 Be prepared to take criticism and remember it’s not all going to be plain sailing
9 When in a position to do so, try to give something back
