“Is it a crime to be a Muslim?” is the tagline to American Indian director Jag Mundra’s latest Shoot on Sight, out on August 22. After tackling wife abuse with Aishwarya Rai in his last Provoked, Mundra’s current political thriller is based on the true life fatal shooting of the innocent Brazilian Jean Charles De Mendes by the police in the aftermath of the July 7 London tube bombings.

A talented cast includes respected Bollwood actors like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Gulshan Grover. It also features British actors like Brian Cox, Greta Scacchi and Footballer Wives Asian babe, Laila Rouass.

Mundra asserts: “It’s entertaining, then enlightening and more like a thriller.” I found it more like a comedy especially a scene in which Greta Scacchi, as the dutiful English- Rose wife of senior Asian police chief Naseeruddin Shah, is shown contentedly making chapattis for her man’s dinner.
